Travelers in the North Atlantic Ocean traffic have frequently observed icebergs traveling in one direction in spite of the fact that strong winds are blowing the opposite way. The icebergs were moving against the wind. The explanation is that the great icebergs, with seven-eighths of their bulk under water, were caught in the grip of mighty currents that carried them forward, no matter which way the winds raged.
Spiritually speaking, for the Christian, when the greater parts of our being is thrust down into the deep places of God, we can move toward righteousness no matter which way the winds of difficulty and temptation blow. “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” (Rom. 11:33). This is why the Psalmist said, “O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep” (Psa. 92:95).
Many in the world will be amazed as we move against these powerful winds, and will desire to understand why and how. Thus, “sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear” (1 Pet. 3:15). “Let your light shine before me” (Mat. 5:16) as you thrust yourself deeply into the will of God and forge against the winds of the world.
Think About It!
Have A Great Day!
