As I was fine tuning my sermon for Sunday – a lesson discussing the importance of personal spiritual growth and how it aids us converting the lost and keeping the saved in the right relationship with God – 1 Thessalonians 2:7-8 made a profound impact on me.

“But we were gentle in the midst of you, as when a nurse cherisheth her own children: even so, being affectionately desirous of you, we were well pleased to impart unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were become very dear to us.”

How are you doing with this? I resolve to improve in this area.
