I AM RICH

In today’s world most consider themselves wealthy or rich who possess large sums of money, prosperity, or material assets. One’s wealth is determined by many by the type of car they drive, the size of their house, the clothes they wear, or the size of their bank account. Many have ignored the declaration of the apostle Paul, “But they that are minded to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil: which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows” (1 Tim. 6:9-10). Many have destroyed their lives, their families, and more crucially their spiritual lives, in the search of worldly riches. Truly many have pierced themselves through with sorrow upon sorrow in their lust for wealth.

Solomon declared, “Two things have I asked of thee; Deny me them not before I die: Remove far from me falsehood and lies; Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is needful for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is Jehovah? Or lest I be poor, and steal, And use profanely the name of my God” (Pro. 30:7-9). “He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house…” (Pro. 15:27). Hosea mournfully said, “According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted: therefore have they forgotten me” (Hos. 13:6). Many have forgotten God in their search for wealth.

Friends, true wealth is not found in material assets. I do not have a large bank account, and am not following with large assets, but I was raised by loving parents, I have a loving wife, loving children, loving grandchildren, I am privileged to work alongside of loving faithful brethren, I have the greatest job in the world – preaching the gospel of Jesus, and I have a loving Savior who died that I might live.

I am a very rich man.

Think About It!

Have A Great Day!
